OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Recognising. Investing. Protecting.

At Eric’s Fish and Chips, we take care in looking after the beautiful locations that are restaurants are in. We train all staff to recycle products using the appropriate bins provided. We recognise the impact our business has on the environment. Our commitments to the environment are not only about the protection of wildlife and their habitats, but also about reducing the amount of natural resources that we consume as a business, i.e. paper, water, heating, lighting etc. in the stores.

Nearly all the food service packaging we provide to our customer are either recyclable or plant based compostable, such as our wooden cutlery and our new Vege wear sauce containers. We have for sale in all our stores hessian bags-for-life for those customers wishing to go the extra mile to look after the environment and sell our famous Eric’s sauces in large glass bottles to save packaging.

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

We only use MSC certified fish and seafood.

All our fish is sourced from companies that are MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certified. This means, that all the fish that we serve in the restaurant has been caught sustainably. Sustainable fishing means leaving enough fish in the ocean, respecting habitats, and ensuring people who depend on fishing can maintain their livelihoods.

OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY

We support local charities and organisations.

We have been pleased to support some great local charities over the years, raising money in stores from donation boxes, private donations from us and organising community events. Charities and events include:

8:56 FOUNDATION – Supports men with their mental health by running free social and sporting activities. A former member of team Eric’s is an ambassador for the charity in memory of their brother who sadly committed suicide, which is one reason why this foundation is so close to our hearts.

SCOTTY’S LITTLE SOLDIERS – providing long term emotional and educational support to children who have lost a parent in the British Armed Forces.

STREET CHILD – helping deprived children around the world access to free education.

ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION – as part of the #keepbritaintidy campaign we organised two beach cleans in Hunstanton. Eric’s Fish and Chips donated drinks, cod bites and chips to participants after the walk and we raised £750 for the charity, while removing 7 large bags of rubbish from the local beach.

NORFOLK HOSPICE / TAPPING HOUSE – our local hero’s! We have done various events throughout the year for this great cause. We have held coffee mornings, organised beach walk and collection buckets in the restaurant.

GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL – supporting families and children through life saving treatment.
